Construction of the Iron County, Utah terminal is 95 percent

last tank and will begin erecting the tank itself in the coming
weeks. UNEV has also purchased Musket’s neighboring terminal
and is tying it to the new terminal. All work on the terminal
site is expected to be completed by October 2010. Once construction
is completed at the terminal, it can begin receiving product
by rail, as Musket had previously been doing.

The Iron County Terminal
To supply Southern Utah and the St. George Airport with the petroleum
they need, Holly Corporation and Sinclair Transportation Company
have built the UNEV Pipeline and a products terminal in Iron County,
Utah.
The terminal is being constructed in an industrial area located
west of Cedar City, Utah, and about 50 miles from St. George, Utah.
The terminal, which will have the capacity to hold approximately
200,000 barrels, will receive gasoline and diesel from the refineries
in North Salt Lake. The terminal will be the mechanism that allows
petroleum products to be delivered to the end-users and retail outlets
in the area.
UNEV has purchased approximately 30 acres of land to build the
terminal that includes a tank farm and a truck loading rack. Once
in operation, the terminal will employ 2 to 3 people and will operate
24 hours a day. It is a state-of-the-art facility that includes
an automated system to provide control of security, product allocations,
and credit and carrier certification by remote input of customer
data.
The terminal also has a state-of-the-art fire protection systems
approved by local authorities. Holly and the UNEV project team will
work with local authorities to coordinate the training of local
emergency responders.
The terminal is overseen by the Utah Department of Environmental
Quality and is being constructed under strict federal and state
environmental regulations, which ensure that it is built in a way
that is safe and environmentally sound. An Environmental Impact
Statement has been prepared for the Pipeline and terminals.
